A standard alarm system uses your phone line to communicate with the central station. If the phone line is cut or disabled, the signal from you security system cannot get the alarm signal out to the central station. Even buried phone line service can go out during a storm. There are also access boxes throughout your neighborhood where telephone lines may be disabled. But if you have NearNet® Radio Back-Up your signal will make it to the central station even without phone service.

Current national statistics indicate that burglars are cutting phone lines on an increasing basis. Disabling the telephone line and siren may be 100% effective in defeating most security systems that do not use NearNet® Radio Back-Up. Standard alarm systems only call the central station when there is an alarm condition. More advanced systems utilizing NearNet® Radio Back-Up check in several times each day verifying communication.

NearNet®, independent of the telephone company, reports your alarm to the central station in the event of your telephone line failing. Telephone company security services advise of telephone line loss and their INABILITY to relay alarm signals during the outage.
